Great search tool for amphibian information, and especially for
amphibian declines throughout the world. According to their web
site, "Amphibia Web already offers ready access to taxonomic
information for every recognized species of amphibian in the world"
and this includes species lists, reasons for declines, photos, and

Bagheera: Endangered Species ('H')
Named after a character in Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book,
Bagheera takes a detailed look at a number of the world's endangered
species, explores the Endangered Species Act, and looks at how zoos
and aquariums are being utilized to preserve animals. Also includes
student activities.

Endangered! ('M' 'H')
"Endangered!" is a project of the American Museum of Natural
History. It offers information on over 30 endangered animals and 4
endangered habitats. The site has information on human population
size and its effect on endangered species. It also contains a
coloring book that teaches children about endangered species.

The Fabulous Kakapo ('M' 'H')
Kakapos are large, New Zealand parrots that lead a nocturnal and
terrestrial existence. This site discusses efforts to save this
extremely rare and unusual bird.

The Raptor Center ('E' 'M' 'H')
This is a conservation effort by the University of Minnesota. It
offers a wealth of information on birds of prey and their
reintroduction into the wild plus what to do with an wounded raptor.
It also has a large multimedia library offering animated and still
pictures, and raptor sounds. There are 16 classroom lessons for
teachers (grades 4-8).

Shorebird Crisis: The Horseshoe Crabs of Delaware Bay ('H')
Plummeting numbers of shorebirds and horseshoe crabs on the New
Jersey coastline prompted this report, which explores the
