News constantly updated throughout the day. Keep abreast of world events with this combination newspaper/news broadcast. Excellent features: Stories link to related stories and sites, plus you can conduct a search for your topic.

Goliath: Landmines--The Invisible Threat ('H')
This Web site, designed by high school students, discusses the history of land mines, includes maps where landmines are still known to exist, and reveals the many problems landmines create (the site reveals that landmines indirectly contribute to many different societal problems). This site came in fifth for "Interdisciplinary Web Pages" in the 1997 ThinkQuest educational Web site design competition.

LinkAge 2000 ('H')
Takes a look at the growing over-65 year-old population and the subsequent implications for society. There is an emphasis on developing countries, with industrialized countries (including the U.S.) discussed in different sections. Teacher resources included. This excellent ThinkQuest site designed by high school students came in first for "Interdisciplinary Web Pages" in the 1997 competition.
