OBJECTIVES REVIEW CHECKLIST

1. The "Objectives Review Checklist" is a useful tool for reviewing and refining the performance objectives for an interactive multimedia program. This tool is based upon the work of Robert Heinich, Mike Molenda, and Jim Russell. For more information, please consult their book:

2. It is often useful to have several different people rate the objectives, e.g., instructional designers, content experts, instructors, and even students.

Objective:

WHO?

WHAT?

• The performance is observable.
• The performance is relevant to the eventual performance context.
• The performance is focused on what learners will do.

CONDITIONS?

• The tools, aids, and reference materials performers may or may not have are specified.
• Any special environment factors are delineated.

CRITERION?

• Time limits.
• Accuracy.
• Percentage of correct responses.
• Qualitative standards.
