18th Century French Enlightenment Painters ('E' 'M' 'H')
Paintings selected from 18 national museums throughout France. Organized by the French Ministry of Culture and INRIA. Full site in English includes a brief discussion of the history, literature, music and science backgrounds with a short genealogy, discussion of painting and link to site in French.

Art de Voir ('M' 'H')
Interesting entrance to the site. Beautiful collection of photographs taken at the Paris World Fair in 1899, and in 1900. Includes 3D pictures, viewable if you have those red and blue glasses.

Cutting to the Essence, Shaping for the Fire ('M' 'H')
Yoruba and Akan / Asante art in wood and metal. An exhibit first presented at the Lakeview Museum of Arts and Sciences, 1994. Gives history of the peoples of the area, development of the crafts, much more, including good pictures of artifacts.

Le Louvre ('E' 'M' 'H')
The Louvre's official Web site includes stunning QuickTime virtual reality tours of the galleries, and close looks at some of the major items in their collection. Admission to the Louvre is free on the first Sunday of each month; this site will placate you for a while if you currently can't afford the plane ticket either.
