Community Science Action Guides('E' 'M' 'H') (Standards)
As the Franklin Institute site explains, ""Community Science Action
Guides" are content packages that support student investigation of
local science issues. Developed and tested by teachers, ... the
"Guides" include planning resources, activities, and ready-to-use
materials." Each guide is correlated to Nation Science Education
Standards.

EEK! Environmental Education for Kids ('E' 'M')
Creative site that includes activities on 'Our Earth,' 'Nature
Notes' (plants, animals and the world around us), plus career
information. Section for teaching activities, lesson plans,
contests, ... from this Wisconsin DNR educational web site for
grades 4-8.

Environmental Decision Making: Our Shrinking Groundwater ('H')
(Standards)
A three week interdisciplinary unit involving individual and
cooperative group activities. Partly internet based. Very thorough
and detailed, downloadables for classroom use, correlated to
national standards.

Environmental Resources for Teachers ('E' 'M' 'H')
Large and good resource from the EPA covering a number of topics in
this area. Many sites have a corresponding Versión en Español.

The Raptor Center ('E' 'M' 'H')
This is a conservation effort by the University of Minnesota. It
offers a wealth of information on birds of prey and their
reintroduction into the wild plus what to do with an wounded raptor.
It also has a large multimedia library offering animated and still
pictures, and raptor sounds.
"The Teacher Lesson Plans are a compilation of 16 lesson plans for
grades four through eight. The lesson plans are multi-disciplinary
and center around learning about ospreys (Pandion haliaetus). There
are many things to learn about the osprey and its habitats. The
lesson plans may be used sequentially or individually."

The Smithsonian has an extensive lesson plan database for teachers.
Search by subject, grade level and/or keyword(s). You will sometimes

Virtual Science Exhibits ('E' 'M')
Enjoy any or all of these excellent exhibits with your students and
take advantage of the lessons plans offered. Secrets of Aging,
Oceans Alive, Build your Own Robot, ...are among the many excellent
exhibits offered online by the Museum of Science.
