OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS:
K*I*D*S Club - Discovery Sessions Begin in September
K*I*D*S Club Saturday morning hands-on science “Discovery” sessions are open to all students in grades 3 – 6. Students participating in the “Discovery” sessions choose from a variety of concurrent presentations delivered by experts in the topic field. Siemens Competition
The Siemens Competition will be held November 18 and 19 at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center. It will be held in conjunction with the NCSSSMST conference (see below). This is a math, science, and technology regional competition open to high school students. Through this competition students have an opportunity to receive national recognition for science research projects they complete while in high school. NCSSSMST: National Consortium of Specialized Secondary Schools in Math, Science and Technology
The NCSSSMST conference will be held November 17 through the 19th. The event is hosted by CEISMC, sponsored by Siemens, and the in-kind contributor is Radio Shack. TEAMS Competition @ Georgia Tech, Saturday, February 25th, 2006 hosted by CEISMC
The Tests of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics and Science, is a unique & challenging academic competition that introduces high school students to various engineering disciplines and illustrates how the math & science they are learning is applied in the real world. Teams of 4-8 students in grades 9-12, work in an open book format in a 1 day, 2-part competition. Teams compete for local, state and national wards and recognition.
