WHAT: Georgia Intern Fellowships for Teachers (GIFT)

Be a part of a professional learning community that includes teachers, researchers and corporate leaders? If you answered YES to one or more of these questions, the Georgia Intern-Fellowships for Teachers (GIFT) could be right for you! We anticipate having GIFT positions in Atlanta, Athens, Macon, Tifton, Cartersville/Rome, Griffin and other cities throughout the state. GIFT teachers are paid a stipend of $728 per week for positions up to 8 weeks and receive up to 10 PLU’s for completion of program requirements.
What: The 2007 National Educational Computing Conference (NECC) Conference
Deadline for registration: Early bird discount ends March 30.
When: Event is held June 24-27
Where: Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta
It's the Big Kahuna of educational technology conferences. Registration for the discount rate of $150 runs through March 30; on April 1 the cost jumps up by about a hundred dollars. So register early! NECC also would like volunteers. Shifts are three hours each. And if you need a bribe, goody-bags are being assembled which will include coupons!

What: TEAMS Competition
Who: 9th - 12th graders
When: February 10, 2007
Where: Georgia Tech Student Center

The competition comes in the form of exams covering engineering, math, and science topics. Schools can enter as many teams as they'd like, with at least per students per team.
