What are STEAM Workshops?

Georgia Tech's CEISMC STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) Workshops are exciting, hands-on workshops for students in 6th grade and older. All STEAM Workshops will be held at the Georgia Tech Midtown campus, on select Saturdays from 1PM to 4PM. Please check out our available workshops below!

2018-2019 Workshops

 

Introduction to Mobile App & Game Development
Grade Level: 6th-12th Grade
Price: $65 per Saturday per Student
Dates Offered: Choose one: December 8, 2018, January 19, 2019, February 23, 2019 or March 9, 2019
 

Students in 6th grade and older are invited to register for Introduction to Mobile (iPhone & Android) App & Game Development. Students will have fun learning how to create the next "Candy Crush" or "Temple Run" sensation on the App Store. All Introduction to Mobile App & Game Development workshop dates will contain the same content, and each workshop must be paid for separately. 

 
 
Micro:bits Mania
Grade Level: 6th-8th Grade
Price: $65 per Saturday per Student
Dates Offered: Choose either December 8, 2018 or January 19, 2019
 

Middle school students are invited to come and explore the world of micro:bits in this exciting workshop. Students will learn how to program these handheld computers to solve many different types of challenges like creating their own game!

 

Getting to the HEART of Biology

Grade Level: 6th-8th Grade
Price: $65 per Saturday per Student
Dates Offered: Choose either December 8, 2018, or January 19, 2019
 

Getting to the Heart of Biology will inspire young future scientists in 6th-8th grade to study the circulatory system through a variety of hands-on lab experiments and activities. Students will have the opportunity to participate in experiments and activities to build and test their knowledge of the circulatory systems in a variety of animals. 

 


LEGO Mindstorms
Grade Level: 6th-8th Grade
Price: $65 per Saturday per Student
Dates Offered: Choose either February 23, 2019, or March 9, 2019
 

Students in 6th-8th grade are invited to the LEGO Mindstorms workshop to learn how to program LEGO Mindstorms EV3 robots. This workshop will bring together students to build upon LEGO Mindstorms EV3 Robots to solve a variety of real-world challenges.
