The 2016 Siemens Competition in Math, Science and Technology is quickly approaching and we are gearing up for another amazing event. As the Region Six University Partner of the Siemens Foundation, Georgia Tech receives innovative research science projects from high school students representing Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia and Puerto Rico. The students are scheduled to present their research, via a virtual platform, November 4-5, 2016, with this be the fifteenth year in a row that we have had the privilege to partner with the Siemens Foundation to host this outstanding competition.
The Siemens Competition, administered by Discovery Education, awards a $1000 scholarship to each regional finalist, in addition to one $3,000 prize to an individual winner and a $6,000 prize to a team winner at each regional competition. Winners of the regional events will advance to the National Finals at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where $500,000 in scholarships will be awarded, including two top prizes of $100,000.
A complete list of finalists and their projects is available at www.siemens-foundation.org preceding each regional event.
