Teaching Sustainability through Place-Based Instruction

Join fellow educators for a unique standards-based workshop that will explore The Kendeda Building for Innovative Sustainable Design (Living Building), the most sustainable building in the Southeast.  This workshop is presented by the Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing and The Kendeda Building.

Located on Georgia Tech’s Atlanta campus, the Living Building fosters regenerative systems and is a learning lab within itself. In this workshop, you will tour the innovative space, engage in an immersive sustainability experience, and participate in hands-on lessons that align to middle school science standards in energy and water. Additionally, there will be time to brainstorm and exchange ideas with colleagues.

We will send you home with ready-to-apply lessons, online resources, and some supplies to get you started.

This program is open to all middle school educators.  There is a $25 charge, and we do require advance registration. Parking and lunch will be included.
